Hello to everyone, I own a 54 plate skoda Octavia which seem to have the rear fog lights stuck on! I have changed the bulbs but i'm still stuck with bright rear lights.. help!!

did you buy dual filament (5w/21w) bulbs? If so, take them out, turn 180 degrees and refit.

 

By that, I mean turn the bulbs 180 degrees, not you.

If you look on the bulb holder you will see something like P21W or P21/5W, this tells what type of bulb to use. P21 is a 21 Watt single filament, P21/5W is a twin filament bulb one of 21 Watts and the other of 5 Watts.  The twin filament bulb has offset bayonets and will go in easy one way and a little more difficult the other way, hence the advice above.

 

To operate the fog lamp switch the light switch needs to be on dipped beam, what do the lights look like when it's on the sidelight position?, if they're bright like a fog lamp the chances are it's either wrong or wrongly fitted bulbs.  Brake lights are the same brightness as fog lamps, are you sure that the brake lights aren't stuck on?
