VRS mk1 insurance?

Featured Replies

Hi all I currently drive a 2008 ibiza Cupra 1.8 20vt but I'm doing too much mileage ATM so looking to find a nice modded VRS

Just wanna know what they're like to insure? Hoping it will work out cheaper tbh ?? :) I'm in a fairly bad postcode BB3 but I'm 20 with 1 yr no claims any one a similar age and fancy letting me know what they pay?

I'm 21, 4 years NCB's standard vrs - £733 a year

I insured mine at 20 with mods declared and 3 NCB for £821 fully comp

Mines standard (at the moment) 23 with 5 years no claims, costs me £450 a year to insure.

I'm 30, all mods declared, 8yrs protected NCD, no voluntary excess = £300!!

When my policy this year was taken out I was 21, 1 year NCB, all mods declared, came to £600 fully comp through Adrian Flux :)

I've been with Sky the last few years - always been cheapest.  You can find them on here and get a club forum discount too I think.

Also a VRS will be much cheaper to insure than your 20VT

22 - fully comp - all mods declared - a crash - 2 years no claims - £629.96

Isn't a vrs only a group 9 insurance anyway? Think my appalling French shed of a 307 1.9 hdi was group 6.

22, 3 years NCB, one crash on file, fully comp, standard, no voluntary excess. £600 ish

I'm 19 with 2ync and paying just over a grand but mods have started so it'll go up

im 20 with a reletivly decent postcode and 1 years no claims with a non fault accident recorded and i just payed £1330 yeasterday

800 mods declared.

26 and 4 years ncb but have a BL postcode now .so its doubled since last year when it was 430 with SK Postcode! !!

Vrsrs, where was your quote from?

SWMBO is 44, driving over 24 years, never claimed at all, £429, albeit withe mods declared.

Appreciate it can depend where you live, but we live in a low risk area, car is garaged (which has a separate alarm), and live in a courtyard with electric gates....

Hi,

Interestingly I've just swapped from a Corsa VXR Nurburgring to a Fabia vRS SE and there wasn't much difference in the insurance which I was surprised at! There was like £50 in it at the most, I suppose £50 is £50 mind but I expected it to be a bit more given the insurance grouping difference between the cars and the fact the Corsa was 6 years newer and worth double the value lol. Strange how car insurance works!

Then again when I swapped from my run about Saxo VTS to the Corsa it actually worked out cheaper too...

Should be a little bit less than what your paying now hopefully, my advice would be to shop around and don't just rely on the price comparison websites for a good price. Brokers can and often do get better discounts and deals. Phoning the company up direct you can often haggle too. Remember there are plenty of insurance companies out there and they want your business!

Mines £420 for my 55 plate vrs

im 38 with 8yrs NCB... My previous Golf GT-TSI 170ps was £60 cheaper to insure and it was a group 14 insurance compared to the group 9 fabia

Hi,

If you need any assistance with insurance then please feel free to drop me a line.

Regards,

Dan.

In reply to the above.

I have tried Flux every year for the last 5 years. Being a member of car clubs throughout and not once have they been competitive.

In reply to the op.

I'd personally try Admiral/Elephant. They are the same company. But they will try to beat each other's price, meaning it can go down a fair bit.

Double post.

I'm also with Elephant and they were good when beating admiral.

Will try Flux come renewal time. I've trend sky a few times but always found it cheaper.

Ive been with adrian flux and they were brilliant, then they sent me a propostorous renewal figure and wouldn't budge from it!

Admiral and elephant for me. And now.... Diamond lol which is part of the Admiral group along with bell. So they should all be roughly the same, but each of them will match the cheapest.

Evertytime I ring flux I get some pathetic attempt at a competitive price, I hear so many good prices from flux from random person people but for me, nothing seems to beat Admiral/elephant

Wasn't disappointed with Chris Knott Insurance;

I was dealt with by Milton, who was very knowledgeable, helpful, and beat our own insurers by a country mile.

Worth a call IMHO.

I'm 27, 9 years NCB (I think, I can't actually remember) and park on a drive way.

For my EP3 CTR I paid £750 last year for 12k miles and social domestic and commuting, I've had my renewal through for my Fabia asking for £450 but that's 20k miles a year + business use.  Obviously I should be able to drive it down some more once I've checked a few comparison sites.
