VRS mk1 insurance?

Featured Replies

Elephant for me, been with them 2 years and both times they have been the cheapest by a mile.

When I was with admiral or elephant they wacked on 500+ just to pay monthly. On a policy for 1k so it ended up 1550 lol

Most I pay now is £80 extra per year to pay monthly!

My current policy is with Brentacre due to

Mods so would probably stick with them tbh was just seeing the rough prices people are paying some cars have silly insurance costs for some reason!

Ive just done some insurance quotes on money supermarket cause i was bored and im 29 with 9/10 years ncb, car will be garaged but i have done it on a standard car though but i got quotes for 326 on my own and 309 if i added my mum who is 60 as a named driver!

Can't believe how cheap your insurances are :/

I'm 18, 1 year ncb insured mine as standard and it's 11 hundred quid

26 one year ncb - with a ban on my license - £730 - Adrian Flux

Vrsrs, where was your quote from?

SWMBO is 44, driving over 24 years, never claimed at all, £429, albeit withe mods declared.

Appreciate it can depend where you live, but we live in a low risk area, car is garaged (which has a separate alarm), and live in a courtyard with electric gates....

It's not just age or where you live though - what is your wife's occupation?

VW Insurance refused to cover my partner as a 'housewife'.

28, 9 years protected ncb, 3 points. £420 fully comp

I'm 21 and just got a renewal quote of £2065 no NCB fully comp :(

Bloody hell, that's a lot. Although when I first got a car which was a mk1 fabia comfort, elephant wanted just over £1400, and yes I paid it :(, my renewal now for my current car is just under £900.

Granted not a Fabia vRS, I have a lightly modded Fabia PD100 and with mods declared I pay £110p/m with Admiral (28, 6yrs NCB) same postcode as yourself.

Been getting quotes in the region of £800+ for my next car :o

Just done a quick online comparison and came out at £750 lowest. If I changed address to my mums it goes down to £350 lol.

renewed last week

me and my other half

both 30

both 13 years driving

both clean licences

13 years no claims on my policy

all mods declared

8000 miles a year

garaged at night

£272

Well my 2007 Fabia vRS is a wacking £162 a year. That's correct £162.  Fully comprehensive with protected no claims.

Admittedly the cars bog standard, I do less than 4k a year in it, have use of another vehicle and live in LN4 postcode. Plus I'm 52 and never had a claim in my life.

But the car does stand outside, list my occupation as household duties (I'm currently caring for someone) but nonetheless £162!

It doesn't include Legal assistance fees as my breakdown cover does that. Even then it's less than £200.  A quote for a 2008 Octavia vRS tdi was something like £250.

So turn 52, live in Lincolnshire, never have claim, do a low mileage an you can't go wrong
