Featured Replies

I have put some temp pics online of my recent visit to the ring with Jon (TaviaRS) no links from the gallery just yet.

I would write some more but I have to be up early tomorrow.

Manny

Nice pics!

Sorry for the high-jack but is that a large or small briskoda sticker in the back of your car mannyo?

That's the large version. The small version can be seen here

Q.

WOW! I'm floored!

Were you attending on a club or school date or was this just open track? The wide-range of cars (and bikes) is very unusual to see on track together. I would -love- to drive the Nurburgring some day! Perhaps on a European delivery trip for a new BMW... :sigh:

I'm speechless. There is nothing like that in the US.

There should be!

I found this site too...http://www.nurburgring.org.uk/ which looks like a very valuable resource for an english speaker planning a trip to the 'Ring.

Why did I get married? I'd be on the next plane to Germany this weekend if I weren't!

MJR,

That is the Small sticker on the back of mine, the Large sticker is much larger and is pretty much the width of the rear window.

I will update the pics with better quality closeups when I get back from holiday, at the moment I am in sunny spain hence the delay in reply.

Hi Manny

I sent you a few photos of yours but I think your mailbox is full now. I will send you the others when you have cleared it up.

Nice to see a picture of me having a little drive

Paul :D

Damn,the FMIC isn't as stealthy as I thought! :(

It does show up quite well in the photos taken by Mannys camera doesn't it :( You can't see it in my pictures. Time to paint it black :D

Why is the passenger not wearing a helmet? Hairdresser syndrome?

That was TaviaRS in the passenger seat and obviously not scared enough by my slow driving to need a helmet :D When we were on quick laps we did both wear helmets to be safe.

Paul :)

Make sure you wash off that brown stain on the numberplate too. I think it's illegal in it's current mucky state. :D

Nope, I took it off just before we entered the car park. Why? Well, it was kin hot. Due to my lack of a cooling fan we had to run with the heater on full blast. Did get a tad warm. :D

Oh and Paul is such an excellent driver , I thought I could trust him not to plant it in anything in the 30 mph section into the car park :D

Whoops I forgot that :o you took it off as we were slowing down and that was the second run then. It's all coming back now

Paul :)

I may have spoken too soon about not having a Nurburgring in the US... on the North Carolina/Tennessee border is the "TAIL OF THE DRAGON AT DEALS GAP:

318 curves in 11 miles on US129"

If my estimates are correct, this is a day's drive from where I live... it would almost certainly require an overnight stay. Perhaps in late autumn when the leaves are changing colors on the trees? :)

Manny

Sorry that I was not there. on the early sundaymorning my trailer broke down so I had no possibility to take the "fat lady" to the Ring. I hope you had a great time and looking forward to see you at the Ring sometime:cheers:

Grt. ****

Is it right that you can just turn up,pay a fee and run the track ?

with no experience or training ?

How kin scary is that -- especially with the differing type of vehicles on show.

I would love to do it - but I would need some track experience on less scary track first....

If I ever get the chance, I'd have to make sure that my brakes, suspension and tyres were uprated to give me some extra margin of error around there

On a track/road like that, you've got to be aware of those around you both ahead of you and overtaking. Track etiquette is one of the segments I've learned in performance driving sessions and it keeps everyone safe.

No upgrades needed :D Manny's car was standard and has been for all his previous trips. This time it had had a jabba remap, no other mods (OK, I think he's change the headlight bulbs).

So who fancies a trip in May next year? :D

Paul, Chris (Studioman), myself and posibly Manny are going over mid Sept if anyone wants to join us.

Paul,

The mailbox should be clear now. Although I am still in Fuengirola the server at home downloads every 30 mins.

Will possibly be there in september although it may only be a quick visit without the RS. I may try the fly and hire car thing.
