My wife's 2008 1.9tdi Fabia has just started to show an orange warning light -Controls system for exhaust. When scanned it shows  a fault code 19556 - Intake manifold air control actuator - short circuit to positive.

 

She says it seems to be driving normally.

 

Any ideas what I can do to fix this?

Find the short, check the wires, clean the contacts as it states you have a short circuit.

Any idea what the intake manifold air control actuator looks like and how do I get to it. Is it the same as an intake manifold flap?

 

I don't want to disassemble the manifold and ancillaries without knowing which one is the offending article.

Problem was sorted by garage who cleaned out the manifold (full of soot) and replaced an o ring that was spraying oil onto the plug for the air control actuator.

 

Orange light did come back on way home from garage but the next day went off and has not been back since.
