ATD Timing belt help - with pictures!

Featured Replies

So after having trouble fitting the timing belt on my ATD engine, i think ive got it sorted...

i know it will be hard to tell over the forum but does this look about right?

It runs ok but that doesnt mean it wont kill the belt in 100 miles time.

General look over the job.

closer look at the tensioner

Closer side view of the tensioner showing the gap (its about 6-7mm at a guess, and you can see the tab bit is a little over halfway between the two dots)

Clearance will be fine at what you have it.

However the tippex marks make me shudder.

If you have VCDS check the torson value block 4 field 4 I think and it will tell you if the timing/tension is correct.
