Recommendations for modified car insurance?

Featured Replies

Admiral have been ok for me.

I wouldn't say an additional £100 is bad, it all depends what it covers. Lowering and rarb were basically an admin fee for me as was my intake. 25% power increase over stock was around £100.

Hmm admiral told me they wouldn't insure if I fitted a RARB. Not sure if they were just being arsey because I got the lowering for free (quote before I had it done which they honoured after).  I'll have to give them another call I think!

Check they know what it is first would be my suggestion.

Double check they haven't clicked the box for rollcage

Im with ESURE now and they undercut every other  company i tried by over £300!!  Even when i phoned the other companies back up they said i must have been making that quote up and refused to talk further!

Admiral are impossible to understand IMO. On occasion we've insured modified cars with them and all they wanted was another £50. Then last year they wanted to increase the insurance on our octy by £500 because of the exhaust (the only mod). The fact they've insured this car for 3 years (with exhaust), and no other changes to the policy apparently had no bearing on the price.

In summary sometimes admiral is good, and sometimes it's a massive headache (especially their foreign call centre...)

Yep, you were right! Rang them and they had it listed under Roll cage. Correct term you need to use is 'sway bar' which they have listed correctly. £25 increase if I do add one

Paahahahahaha, unbelievable.  Had the same, I knew when on the phone they had no clue.

Well I'm glad that you got that sorted.  Of that £25.00 about £14.00 is admin aswell from my conversations so really I think a fair price for the bar.
