Golf R number plate LEDs

Featured Replies

Is anyone running genuine Golf R led number plate lights on a pre FL?

I know there are alternatives that work but I'd like to stay OE if possible. A few mk5 golfs are running them without issues.

I will get back to you soon on this

Just looked but they aren't genuine. I don't want them too bright and genuine ones last.

from my experience the stuff mylitco sell's does last, its not cheap rubbish from my experience

get a couple o canbus leds for a few quid and will do de same job.

Canbus bulbs are usually whiter.

I´am sure many will recomend some

Like I said, I'd prefer to get genuine ones. If there is some way to patch in a cheaper canbus resistor without disturbing the original wiring I'd be interested.

No Octavia will come with original leds.

You are going the nice job/great quality/original way

but I still think that it´s a bit pricey

Iv got genuine Passat lights in my mk3, I have done a thread on here to help others, however some doesn't take too lightly to the price and wanting it done properly

By the looks of it the mk3 is different to the mk2. BTW the Golf units won't physically fit into the holes in the boot.

I got some led bulbs from Halfords a couple of years ago. Still fine to this day and cost less than a tenner.

The mk3 are a different unit, they didn't fit perfect at first in mine but on the modules them selfs were some indented marks in a small piece of plastic that stuck up which looked like cutting guides and was simply snipped with some cutters and fit perfect.

Compared to the cheap led bulbs i put in my mk2 its much better quality and guide the light on to the plate rather than everywhere but, also a much nicer OE light, im very happy with them and was happy to pay the price.
