Cleaning Throttle Body without disassembly

Featured Replies

Hello guys,

I have a 2002 Ocatvia 1.8T  When I am at a red light and begin to accelerate I feel a small surge and then the engine pick up normal.

I have experience the same issue long time ago and I clean the trottle body with a spray product for this but I remove the throttle body to do this.

I was checking a product that clean the throttle body thats comes with a thin long plastic tube to apply the product without the need of disassemble the throttle body. You need to keep the engine running when you apply the product.

So I was thinking on removing the big rubber hose that goes attached to the throttle body to apply the product with the engine running.................. Do this will trow some error codes or check engine light because of running the engine with this big hose disconnected? Or it will clear by itself after I attach the hose and run the car.

Have any of you has use this or similar product?

Please check the video so you understand what I mean.

Thank you for your time and help.

Isaac

at the risk of killing threads (just seems to happen to me)     whilst not as good as a strip and clean it's a lot less work and can't do much harm (queue argument)    It' s reputable outfit I'd give it a try---assuming plugs filters etc are all good

Isn't this stuff for diesel engines only?

diesels don't have  throttles
