Door damage- repair or replace?

Featured Replies

Someone has run into my Fabia- they pulled out of a line of parked cars while I was driving past. This has damaged my driver's door- there are some dents, but because it was quite slow they aren't big. I have two quotes from different places. One was adamant that the door should be replaced, increasing the cost. The other said a repair would be better as the seals would have to be broken. He said that a repair would be good enough that if I wasn't impressed he wouldn't charge for it.

The guy that hit me is paying so I'd rather the job was done right. Which should I go for, full replacement or repair? The difference is about £500.

Thanks

Well, if you're not paying then what's it matter, you might as well get it done right and get a new door s any marks on the door after it has been done could risk lowering its value, I'd say get a door.

Has he had the prices from you yet?

Might not be so keen to stump up once he knows the price as we found out earlier in the year when our fabia was bumped.........started wanting to fit second hand doors from ebay :wall:
