Hi All

I'm considering returning to the VRS. I had the Mkii before I switched to the Yeti. I cannot decide on the colour. What would look best on the hatch - Red or White? And what wheels would look best with either option?

Thoughts welcomed?

Personal thing really, I had this very colour dilema. Used the computer screensaver to scroll red and white for a few weeks. Went to see a white (as no reds at dealer in August). Then choose for yourself. Went with white estate, although if hatch would have done red just like my mk2.

Red most definitely, whether you choose Corrida (non metallic) or Rio Red (metallic) is obviously your choice, but red with the black pack would look amazing.

I would choose white, but it all comes down to personal preference. There is no right or wrong answer.

White looks nice but I have also seen red and that looks great.

If I hadn't gone for the blue on my hatch, i would have gone for red. I do agree though, there is no right or wrong answer, they all look good.

Going for red with black pack myself...white was considered but concerned it would be too common. I've yet to see a red one on the road...white and blue seem to be people's favourites

I would be interested in this also, is there any pictures of a red one knocking around which isn't a professional / promo?

This is my red hatch with the black pack to give you an idea, looks even better in the flesh!

For me red gets the vote. Check how the white looks in the flesh before you decide though. I chose blue for my mkII as IMO there was too much metal in the rear quarter to use a light colour like white but not sure if its the same with the mkIII. You might want to ask about resale value too as some colours are more popular so dealers can give a better trade in deal when you come to sell because they shift off the forecourt quicker. I've gone for Rio Red but have never seen it on a car or swatch. It will have a black sunroof panel and black pack, so goodness knows what that will look like!

But if its anything like Riceys car I will be happy.

Being built next week so I will find out soon....

My current vrs (Jan 13) is white with black wheels - lots of cars around with that format. New one on order is red with black pack, in my opinion it looks better and less common. Although posts like this will get more people in red with black cars.....

I'm seriously considering Corrida Red for my next car, probably a vRS Estate, but I'm thinking that it might look better without the black pack (bright surround for the grille & red mirror caps) but have the matt-black roof-bars repainted in gloss back by the dealer. 

 

Am I mad?

 

As for Rio Red, I'd love to see a colour swatch or sample but no luck so far.

I'm definitely going with the black pack and sunset glass with the anthracite alloys. Can anyone give me a thumbs up or down on which one to go for? Currently I'm in a 2010 vRS hatch in Silver, so a bold statement is needed!! 

It depends on how much you want to time you have and want to spend cleaning a black car.

I personally think black with the black pack is *too* black, so if you really want the black pack I reckon red will look better.

Red, but I woukd say that. Blue bit common, soon to be joined by white. They all look good though.

Yep I think I'm swayed.....red with the black pack and privacy glass in hatch form.

Corrida red, no black pack vRS hatch. Looks great :-)
