Continental Winter Contact Tyres 235 40 R18

I have for sale my winter tyres. No use to me now as I sold the Superb.

As much as I love these tyres in autumn and winter, they just won't fit on the citigo ;)

This is a re-list/bump.

In good condition, I would of fitted if I'd kept car, see pics, plenty of tread left.

Set of 4, £50 per corner, £200. Ideally collection only ( Sheffield ), they fit in the superb fine. Carriage on top. Note these are about £180 a corner new.

They also have a tyre sized plastic storage bag.

Continental Winter Contact TS830 235 40 R18 M+S marking. Rated to V up to 240km/h

If you were thinking about winter tyres but didn't want the outlay, these are ideal!

Middle of the summer I know but I want these gone.

Courier can be arranged but you need to book and pay for. I'll wrap each one at £5 each.

If it helps with a sale, I have 235/40/18 winter tyres on my mk2 pre-fl octy and they clear without any issues. my car is also lowered. So they also fit an Octavia.

Great price (especially for this time of year when prices are higher and stocks are low).

If I had spare cash I would buy them myself.

Just some updates

Are the base tyres on your current 18's are 225 45 R18's.

If so have a quick look at my screenshot attached. You can (I think ) via your settings computer/maxidot adjust for winter tyres, or just know if your speedo says 70 you are 2.2% ish slower than that + original speedo error. I see that as a small plus in the worst of weather ;)

As to gaps and alike, they should be ok, there is little overall; see attachment, size change.

Shipping to <somewhere>

Couple of options, quick google pulls up Paisley Freight at £28.50. Other couriers or fronts like directcouriersolutions put 4 tyres 18" at 31 ish. Will raid the store cupboard for some bin backs to wrap ;)

e.g. http://www.directcouriersolutions.co.uk/product.php?id=80 but happy to use anyone you know/recommend.

Holy thread revival.

Due to this and that, these didn't end up selling.

I want them gone now, so what better time to sell than mid summer :)

I mean of course, what better time to invest, have a great day out in the peak...

£200 picked up. Otherwise they are plant pots.

Looking forward to picking these up

Thanks Colin ;)

Damn! I saw these earlier and knew they would go quickly!

Can I have second dibs? :P But I am not sure I will get the chance!!

Sorry fella

Haha! I knew it was hopeful

hi, yes, sorry Damo got in quickly. ;)

You never know he might see the light and job his superb in for a citigo...

Marking thread up as sold.

  • 1 month later...

Due to a probable imminent change of Alloy size, these are back on the market

You can have them for exactly the same as I got them off Colin, which is £200

I haven't had them fitted so they are still in their tyre bags ready for collection from my home in Sheffield

They are a real bargain at this price as you probably know

Cheers

Damo

hopefully Colin & Damo wont mind me dredging up this thread. I dont think I will be able to store these tyres over the summer (without a row) so this is a feeler for selling what appear to be become a briskoda family heirloom.

Currently on the car, but will to take them off before the end of winter to secure a sale.

I've done maybe 3000 miles max on these tyres from the pictures above.

only proviso is there is a slight knick on the outside of one of the tyres, but this has been confirmed as safe by a garage and passed an MOT this week, happy to show the cert to anyone who comes to see the tyres.

£200 seems cheap considering the price new but as Damo did me a good turn I'll pass that down to another. Price is collection only from mid cheshire, 10 mins from J18 M6.

I know I posted further up, but if these are available I would be interested.

Quick question - how much tread is left on them? Looks like maybe 6-7mm on Colin's pictures?

A jolly good question sir, and one that would require a depth gauge, which I dont currently have. I do need to get one though as I have some other tyres I need to measure. Give me a couple of days and I'll sort a reading.

The not particularly helpful answer would be that Colin's pictures were still accurate when I put these on and I've done 2-3k so there is a good amount of tread left.

Fair enough, not a problem!

I like the 'not particularly helpful answer' :)

Compare to a coin maybe?
