rear anti roll bar octavia vrs.

Featured Replies

Does fitting one to an Octavia have the same big impact on handling as it does when one is fitted to the fabia? My vrs doesn't have the same planted stable feel at speed on the motorway as my fabia did with a roll bar fitted. Do Jabba do one for the Octavia or is it just white line?

Anyone?

Didnt notice any difference on motorway stability but I did change it after only a couple of weeks of owning the car. Mine reduced body roll on cornering and understeer. Corners much better and well worth it IMO. Mine is a Whiteline on medium setting (I will probably try the stiffest setting when the roads dry out next spring). Cheapest option I think and cant see any reason to spend more.

I had a Whiteline ARB and ALK fitted the other month. It has improved the handling, not sure on just the difference without the the ALK though, sorry. The ARB is set to the medium setting

What are the options? Is there only a whiteline available?

No idea but as I'm stalking you thought I'd say you might want to update your sig. 'totally standard for now' or stage 1 remap in your case!

Lol did notice I had not up dated that. Cheers for that wookiee!

Ditto previous posters.  There used to be others, not seen any being pushed recently.

We are all tightening our belts, driving around like pussies to save fuel, wear and tear and the like, stuff like this is redundant.

I have the same set up as lozparry & had mine fitted a few months back. The RARB certainly gives the car less body roll & allows higher speed cornering. The ALK kit allows you get the power down & reduces wheel spin greatly & oversteer too. The combination of both is very noticable & really compliments the car & allows the Stage1 effect to make even more of an impact when you need it too.

I have mine RARB set to medium & wouldnt want to go to hard setting this time of year incase the back end snaps away on a cold day going around a bend/RAB in the spirited manner you can do it. P.S. this does annoy some people on a RAB as you can seem to come out of nowhere when you flick around a RAB, so be careful when to use it. Like most things use it when it's safe.

I hope this helps

What actually is an anti lift kit? What does it comprise of and actually do?

What actually is an anti lift kit? What does it comprise of and actually do?

It is quite primitive looking bit of metal that adjusts the camber/castoer of the wheel & reduces movement in the bush. Check this out for a full exlanation : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jn-aWUFKY98

On the video its the MK5/6 Golf fittings

The RARB (also known as a SWAY bar) video is also here for you to look at too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NE7U-FNep7Q

If you ignore the rather excited polo driver you get a jist of what both components do for you.

Whiteline rarb here to. Brilliant mod for the money. Massively improves the handling. Set mine on the medium setting but went to the hardest after a week.

best bang for buck i reckon.  corner handling speeds have been massively improved.  very handy for my stage 2 ;)

What's difference between medium and hard?

There are alternatives to Whiteline if you choose to get another one. DPM Performance have Eibach, H&R and KW roll bars listed, the only difference is that they all come in sets of front and rear ARBs. I have a Whiteline RARB waiting to be fitted in my garage. Wasn't sure about upgrading the FARB, whether that would make much difference.

I added front and rear eibach rollbars at the same time as well as a superpro ALK , my opinion is that it greatly improves te handling of the car and makes it loads flatter through the corners as well being able to take them at higher speeds.

Well worthwhile mods in my opinion

Where is the best place to get a whiteline one from? Am I right they do a none adjustable one as well?

Awesome should stock Whiteline, which might be best for you to collect in-person? If not just Google or have a look round the forum sponsors here.

I have the Autotech rear ARB, FWIW - W8 can supply them on here.

Is that a adjustable? How much was it?

yes, the autotech is adjustable. i have one on mine, 3 settings - mines on medium at the moment but i'll probably go to hard at some point.

the autotech is more money than some other makes as it's hollow and therefore lighter - btw i also replaced the bushes it was supplied with for some superpro items as they are a bit more compliant and less squeaky.

hth.

Ask W8 for a price, or check their website.

As Rob says, the Autotech is hollow and 3-way adjustable. I have mine on the middle setting.
