Ibiza Owners Club very own SEAT Ibiza MK1 1988 System Porsche

Featured Replies

Hello and welcome, welcome the world of the MK1 Ibiza! Ibiza Owners Club have purchased their very own MK1.

The Car;

Seat Ibiza MK1 3dr 1.2 '88 in "red"

Current mileage sits a little over 62,000 miles.

 Some pictures of the evening it was picked up. No real drama on the pick up, minus me taking about 5,000 miles of life out of the clutch trying to get it on the back of the van, for it then to get caught by the exhaust of all things, that is so well built it actually lifted the entire car up! Anyway.. pictures!

And of course the fact that next year marks the 30th anniversary of the MK1! Perfect timing indeed.

It does need work doing, this is clear. A respray being right up there at the top of the list and a good one isn't cheap...

But here is some pictures from this morning. All thanks for A+ Vehicle Services for these so far!

I had one of these as my first car, mine was a 1.5 GLX with a Webber carb on it. Loved it to bits, if I could have it back now I would!

System Porsche too then the 1.5! Plan is to do a full over haul on the engine/suspension/transmission and then strip it all respray the shell and put back together again.

Then maybe, maybe some OEM wheels.

  • 4 weeks later...

I had one of the last of these, an L reg  1.2 SLXi 3 dr  in black from 1998 to 2001

Interior... the front driver seat needs a little work I think. But the rest are ok maybe!

The funky steering wheel.. as you can see we need a new lock not just for the boot, but for the ignition. HELP?
