After market cruise control installation

Featured Replies

I took delivery of my Monte Carlo Tech on Monday and would like to have cruise control retro fitted, has anyone had this done? if so please provide some guidance thanks.

It should be retrofittable using the original parts.

But if its a new one, why didn't you spec it as an option?

Because you can't spec any additions the Monte Carlo Tech comes as is and any options such as Cruise Control, Parking Sensors etc.have to be retro-fitted.

Ah, ok, just SUK keeping up the good work then :)

Thanks, any idea of cost?

Well when you can get nearly £16k worth of care for £12k I was prepared to put up with not being able to spec other things, had the parking sensors fitted and thinking about cruise, I've been quoted so far £370 to supply and fit so working out do I really need it

It really depends on where you drive and how often, I have used my CC a few times, but on anything but quiet motorways it is more of a pain than using my right foot, plus I can get significantly more MPG out of using my foot.

Did you get aftermarket sensors or skoda ones??

When i looked at a 2nd hand car that didn't have cruise, the dealer offered to fit it for the same price as the option when new. The skoda service dept there said it was straightforward

Hi Mike, Skoda ones, they were fitted by the dealer before I took delivery, Skoda dealers on e-bay will sell you the cruise control for £180 plus delivery but its not something that I'd want to play with fitting myself to be honest.

Thanks all, I will let know what I decided to do as any cost over £300 needs carefull thought.

Only factory fit parking sensors bring up the dash display, I'm led to believe.  Fabia has factory ones and I get the radar graphics on the stereo - wifey's Citigo had them dealer fitted and just gets the bleeps.

This is true, however unless you are stone deaf (apologies to anyone that is) you can hear the bleeps really well.

It can be done, but by VW, and the price is nearly 3 times the price

i did the same, i didn't have it fitted from factory and enquired to have it done when it came in, and the price was horrendous

Should've bought an Elegance and lowered it :)

wheres techie1, he usually give a understandable answer to these sort of questions and is the king of cc
