All hail the colder weather!

... When mapped 1.8t's start to feel much more responsive!

Went out shopping the other day, booted it and had my first "omg am i really going to cope giving all this power up for a Citigo" moment in all my time of ownership.

These engines sure do like a nice chilled IAT!

Yes - I do like a nice dry winter day.    Would like to do a dyno day when its around zero - as long as there's plenty of tea on tap, and I am wrapped up snugly!  :D

we talking with or without front mount as i know mine is quite mad atm !!

I think all turbo'd vehicles are the same    I would imagine perhaps those without front mounts would feel the most benefit from significantly colder weather?

see sorry to sound thick but i never understood that i always assumed that with a front mount the more dense the air is talking in terms with winter the better it would be as i know when i had my side mount cold or not it was not great now with front mount i find it to be alot better unless thats what u mean then sorry my reading skills ain't great :( !!

Without FMIC mainly... we all know the standard VAG intercooler is bobbins.

I cant figure out a word you said.

With cold enough air you don't need any intercooler at all

as said reading and writing aint my strong point liverpool-lad but fair do's

One things for sure, if its colder outside = air is more dense & the inlet temps and intercooler will be colder as a result.

Win Win.

You are all as mad as a box of frogs ! I would much rather go a bit slower in 30 + degrees of summer sunshine ! Now where did that holiday brochure go ?

Now see my octy loved cold temps but my fabia......

Well thats different, she hates cold temps. I find she runs much smoother and better mpg when its dry and about 12deg ish. Wierd how a petrol turbo loves cold yet a deisel dunt?

Diesels need heat for best mpg that's why fuel economy is poor when diesels are used for short runs as they don't get up to full operating temp.

Also additves are added to diesel fuel over the winter to prevent coagulation which can hamper things.

Mine definitely goes better in the cold, no doubt about that.

Mine keeps surprizing me in this cold weather. I also find the induction roar louder(but that might be in my head) mines stage 1 with the standard intercooler

I'm with group 1 on this viva la aircon and le summer sun

Can't do this cold stuff;)

+1 :sun:

I'm completely standard in the engine department (except the induction kit) and even I'm noticing an extra bit of "oomph."

I work nights so that's generally when I do most of my driving... and it's a lot colder in the wee hours

Any petrol in cold weather will notice it as cold air is denser
