Who to contact

Featured Replies

I have done several scans now with VCDS and have noticed the same issues pop up.

Is it worth contacting Skoda UK to find out exactly what my chassis number should have fitted (including any extras) as it's doing my head in not knowing why some issues are constantly reoccurring as its not recognising something that may be fitted but not working or vice-versa

Cheers

Steve

don't bother

if you tell skoda uk that you have faults show up on a scan, they will want it to be plugged into a dealer machine and charge you

a better solution is to post up what issues you have

The options sticker in the boot should give a fairly good list of what is fitted. There is a website that decode the options, don't have a link to hand.

Cheers fellas,

Eddie- The issues are generally no comms with 37-Nav and 56-Radio but both work fine. The radio one often throws up "problems" surrounding digital sound package which is why I don't understand what's up as I don't know if it was ever meant to have it! The unit fitted is Columbus so again don't know if it's retro or not :-(

It sometimes says special operations no comms which I have posted about before and I'm still trying to find out it's history from new.

Another new one is intermittent wiper control malfunction- it has auto wipers so not a major issue.

Trundlenut- cheers for that if you find out what it's called please give me a shout

Thanks again guys

I'm guessing that the nav has been retrofitted, probably from a car with the soundsystem (so that fault is down to coding)

So the communication error is either due to the wiring or the Columbus.

If the columbus is at fault, do you know the firmware, some modified firmwares can cause the communication issue

doesn't mean the columbus was factory fitted

your car could have had a Nexus Sat nav and that was upgraded

Yeah fair point, however works fine with the maxidot when running with the nav it show shows compass direction, road number and has turn off countdown etc etc working ok.

Other thing I've had trouble with which I cant find a module or fault codes for is Cruise control, I just can't get it to work, are there any tests with VCDS that can be done to find the problem??

Cheers
