Hi people, I went to look at a VRS today and the EML is on :( THe thing is the guy seems really genuine, and says its always been on and it is because of the tuning box. 

 

 

I do have vagcom... and was going to go read the codes prior to purchased ( if he lets me). What codes should I expect for these kind of modifications? The car seems to run fine, just the light is on

If it has an egr delete then that's probably the cause of the light.

So if I take code reader, it should come up with EGR related problem.

Yes, something like "limit exceeded" which is due to it not seeing the flow of gas from the EGR.

I think i have read somewhere there is a way to code this out with the use of Vagcom. something I will look into if I puchase the car   Thanks for help people, I am hoping to be a Fabia VRS owner very soon. 

You can limit it, and I did, but the light keeps coming back.  Only way to remove is for the EGR to be mapped out - which I have had done now, no CEL.
