Failed MOT...

Featured Replies

So my car failed the MOT yesterday and is in the garage being repaired. They have said it needs 4 new tyres and the back brakes were applying unevenly, so it needs new wheel cylinders aswell as shoes.

How much do you reckon I should be paying for the brake work?

No idea because no idea who is doing it or their hourly rate.

But say £50 an hour & say 1.5 hours £75,  Shoes maybe £25, (maybe £40)

Wheel Cylinder x 1 £15 each, (Maybe £20 each & Fluid/materials £4)  you are at £150 ish plus 20% VAT,   £180 .

What do they want £200 ish ??

Skoda National Pricing is £99 for just replacing rear Brake Shoes.
