I had a brilliant silver 2.0 TDI elegance hatchback 2007-2010 then a race blue metallic vRS diesel estate 2010-2013 and loved both colours so I had a similar quandary as I loved both colours.

 

In the end I have gone for the Corrida red for my new vrs diesel hatch and it looks the mutts nutts - love it :-) The red will be much rarer than race blue especially now the exclusivity of it to the vRS has been lost.

if you really want to be exclusive get the green one. Bet you'll never see another ....

Go for silver. I saw a race blue hatch the other day on the road and personally I just didn't like it but then I'm not a fan of the hatch style.

Race blue has had its day.

Silver looks really classy, less shouty, and shows off the angles of the new MkIII vRS really nicely.

All IMO of course.

I don't get the logic of those whining about Race Blue not being a vRS colour only no longer and then going off and ordering a White, Silver or Red vRS in protest, all of which are also even more of a standard colour to blend into the masses imo! If you like the Race Blue, why not order it, if you like any colour for that matter, order it, colour is a very personal choice at the end of the day. If you want the vRS only colours, it would have to be the green, grey or yellow, but I suspect Race Blue vRSs may be quire rare if this thread is anything to go by, so I'd stick with what I like, not what I thought someone else would want in 3 or 4 years time!

Race blue seems to be the traditional colour for the vrs over the years, so if you want trad go for bule if you want different go for silver.

I didn't have much of a choice when I chose my silver 2.0 elegance estate as I wanted it asap, but having taken delivery of it on Monday I would say the colour is great. It isn't your standard silver but a brilliant silver and it is that bright it looks almost white especially in the dark.
