Literally just collected my new Octavia VRS Estate (diesel DSG) in Candy white with the black pack, bluetooth plus, simply clever pack, Canton sound system, spare wheel etc.

 

1st drive - Love the DSG. Very very smooth with good gear changes and even in normal drive mode you can feel the 180BHP pulling you. Seating position, controls etc are all very good and responsive and right where they need to be. Build quality is fantastic and it really does feel like i high end premium car/design.

 

Bluetooth Plus - Really easy to set up and when kept in the induction loop i didn't get a signal less than full bar so happy with really happy with this. Also tried streaming music via bluetooth and again very easy to do and you can change songs/rewind/fast forward etc with the radio controls or the steering wheel controls so no need to touch your phone at all.

 

Bolero touchscreen - What a massive improvement over the MKII FL version. Very responsive and so far i have had no lag when using it (felt like the MKII was a bit slow at times). The display is fantastic and animated with colour so it looks great when viewing song artwork/radio station artwork etc. The DAB radio is spot on! I listen to a lot of digital radio stations at home so it brilliant having these in the car too. Loads of station to choose from which you can search for in a number of ways including regions, music type etc.

The system menus are controlled through the Bolero system and because these are in colour and animated it is really easy to navigate and there are 100s of different personal settings that you can change so really happy with this.

 

Canton sound system - AMAZING! Sounds gorgeous with the DAB quality radio signal and bluetooth/CD sound quality is excellent too.

 

only done 16 miles upto now so only a very basic review but so far my first impressions of the vehicle is a 5 out of 5 star rating.

 

Not had the chance to take photos yet but i will get these uploaded tonight or tomorrow.

The only thing with mine is the front headlamp washers. They stick so have a look to see if they are ok?

Picked up mine today too - wow.

Only problem is the that sleet is not the best for trying out a car with 80% more power than the last. Lots of traction control warning light action!

Looking forward to heated windscreen and seat in the morning.

Agree with the comments on the Bolero upgrade from MKII FL, it's much quicker, slicker and the voice control works! SD card loaded and station logos on. Long trip for a meeting tomorrow and I can't wait.

I see you have the blue tooth plus can you confirm if this comes with small arial on the roof .   It comes as standard with sat nav but you do not mention you have sat nav.

 

My dealer doesnt seem to know if the bluetooth plus comes with a roof ariel or not!!

I have the blue tooth plus and yes comes with the shark fin arial on roof

Yes it does come with the roof fin. I have the black pack so my ariel is black and looks really smart.

Still think white with black pack and anthracite wheels is best combo, good call!

My umming and arghing is terrible but seeing this makes me think seriously about chopping my MK2 Blackline Combi for one of these before too long. When you start looking at VW and Audi pricing for the same sort of car you begin to realise what good value the new vRS is regardless of its increase in price
