I'm back in the Octy forum after picking up a 2003 1.9 Tdi Elegance estate for my wife.  The car is in good condition but has a couple of minor issues.  The instrument cluster info displays aren't working correctly, the LHS one just displays rubbish and the trip doesn't work, the RHS one trip odometer resets with every journey, but the mileage works fine.  Any ideas of things to check?  I have VCDS pro, no items logged after a scan..

Sounds like someones removed the fuse to mask a problem with the dials dropping to zero, fuse 14 from memory.

What do you mean by the LHS displaying rubbish? Is it displaying numbers/letters?

Displays some parts of various numbers but just random and doesn't make any sense..
