Just a quick question, if I ourchase a cherished number plate,  would my premuim increase? if so why and by how much?

I know you are asking an insurance company, but I've never noticed an increase.

Insure them as they come and then add the private plates.  Cost stays the same.

Thanks for that, it was just that when i insured with Chirs Knott thay asked at the time of purchasing if it has a private reg, so weird thoughts going through my mind (as well as the other usless carp in there)

It won't alter your premium at all but there may be a £15 Admin Fee for arranging the swap.

Thanks

It may effect your Warranty as the car is now not on the Plates that were on when the Warranty kicked in

I believe that some insurance companies ask whether it's a cherished plate just so they know to let you transfer it before the car's written off in the event of a total loss claim - otherwise, if the car's written off with the plate still registered to it you'd lose the plate.

No impact on premium and Directline change it for free for me.
