Got into my car tonight coming home from work and noticed that the indicators didn't seem to be working. No dash warning or audible clicking. I stopped when I could, and turned engine off then on again. Engine started but no dash lights even though the headlights were turned on. I could just see that the rev counter wasn't working either. Engine off then on but no idle just turned off. Locked the doors and unlocked started car all lights working but warning light on for bulb not working. This went out when I indicated left but came back on. I got home and checked all the light , all working including number plate bulbs. 

Tried again and same again bulb warning light on. Tried again and the light stayed off.

 

Any ideas?

 

I had a problem a few weeks ago were the car didn't idle when started but did the second time. The air bag warning light stayed on. My garage cleared it saying there had been a communication error woth the imobilser and this had triggered a dash warning light.

Have you tried simple things like battery and alternator earth. Sounds like that or some damage to a wiring loom.
