Is Corrida Red a solid colour?

Featured Replies

As per title, simple question really!

I'm asking because I was always under the impression that it was a non-metallic, i.e. solid. However, I had to wet and dry a few scratches down this evening, to find lacquer in the water and not red paint....

Was it an option to get it done in metallic in this colour?

Solid colours have lacquer on them too. . Not just metallics.

Mines sprint yellow. . .non metallic. . .still has lacquer on it.

Its not the lacquer what makes metallic cars metallic. . Its in the paint. . And maby the lacquer too sometimes

Thinking back though.... I could swear that I had an Astra estate one that had turned pink. I polished it up by hand and all the cloths were red.

Plus I've just polished a Corsa C in the same colour (flame red) and that was just the same. So can't be any lacquer on that surely?...

That was probably back in the'good old days' before the latest water based paints were bought in. Then they used either cellulose or 2pack paints and certainly the non metalic paints didn't have a lacquer top coat.

yes corrida red is a solid colour with a clear coat on top, theres about 9 diifferent shades of it too which all have thier own unique mixing code. some of the mixes are iidentical to vw flash red

Old vauxhall red is 2 pack paint (base and lacquer in one) thats why the colour came off. I have the older yellow to burks and its 2 pack so with tom saying theres multiple shades there might be a few that where 2 pack. Mine fades bad on the spoiler and rear bumper so i imagine the newer ones don't fade so bad.

The rear spoiler is not laquered, hence they fade ;)

Some red cars fade even though they are laquered, like my rallye, annoying on them because you can't 'cut' the paint to bring it back to life :(

:(

Type "spolier lacquer peel" in the search bar on here. . ;)

More threads than you can shake a stick at.

Not on Corrida red ones you won't ;)

You get red on your cloth if you T-Cut the spoiler=not laquered ;)
