Yeti Build Dates

Featured Replies

Hi All

This is my first post so thought I would say Hi!  I ordered a new FL Yeti 1.2fsi DSG City SE with Amundsen Sat Nav and upgraded wheels.  Oh it is in black!!.  I ordered it 3 weeks ago and I was wondering how long it takes to get a build date?

I got a great deal with Alex Laurie in Liverpool and went for the solutions deal (over £1000 off the car).  They have been very good so far but have not given me a build date yet.

Cant wait to get my hands on it!

Cheers

Steve

Hi Yetiowner,

Ordered my Yeti from Alex Lawrie on Friday. Excellent price and service. Also went with the 0% solutions. Will be interested to see when you get your build date. Was told about 14 to 16 weeks before delivery. From other posts seems that there is more of a delay depending on model and spec. Went for the Elegance 170 4x4, heated screen and jets, spare wheel and TPM ( had a slow puncture on my current car the other month, luckily had both these on it ). Waiting to see who's the lucky person on here to get the first facelift on the road.

Someone already has taken delivery (I think).

Build week should be available around 3 weeks after ordered according to Skoda UK. However, having said that I contacted them recently and still no build week for me in over 4 weeks from order.

I also got a quote from Alex Lawrie (Liverpool?) via Carwow. Trouble was, I needed a p/ex and they would not quote unless they could see the car (fair enough), but a 200 mile trip was a no no.

I also wanted the 0% PCP, and the discount was as you say £1000 (5%), but they did tell me p/ex would be "bottom book". Anyway, went to my local dealer who gave me £500 over book price on th ep/ex and £500 extras, so all in all it worked out the same.

And, no 200 mile trip to collect when it is finally here.

I'm sure the wait will be worth it. Told them I wanted mine in March to take advantage of new reg anyway. I'm going to sell my old car privately before as already had a bit of interest locally.

Well thought I would go into the dealer today as we where going past the showroom anyway to see if we had a build week.

It then went like this,

ME. Morning Colin (usual banter)

Thought it was time I found out what build week we have at the moment.

Colin,  have a coffe and we will have a look (coffe delivered, sat by computer enter in order no)

Me. Hope it's going to be about right for march , and not delayed for months.

Colin. Mmmmm not showing a build week yet, strange but that not a problem will call skoda tomorrow and find out more.

Me. That's fine let me know when you know.

We where having a chat about all things yeti and skoda,  and Colin looked at his computer screen :o  and looked at me and looked back again.

Me. Is there a problem.

Colin. Well not a problem it's just come on the screen,          well it's.   well ummm  it's not got a build week because,       it's sat a the port of exit cleared for shipping.

Me. So my FL yeti could be over here in a week or two.

Colin yes,  will check tomorrow to make sure it is the correct status for your yeti and let you know.

On both my yeti it was 6 months from order to collection, working on this took advantage of the October deal for march delivery, but it looks like it has gone down the line much quicker than my last two, only 6weeks from order to sitting on the dock with ticket in hand waiting for the boat :o .

I was going for March 14 plate delivery, but will take it earlier and get a bit more for my part x, and it will be going on a personal plate so not a problem really, just going to empty the wallet a little sooner :giggle:, o well all the best thought out plans and all that, dealer would keep it till March if I wanted as that was the agreement.

How far away is your Yetavia :wonder:  I could win this one

I am very jealous wakev, but just as well you asked today. Could be a nice Xmas/New year present.

What model/engine Outdoor did you choose and exactly when in October did you order?

It's a 110 SE with a few options (see my profile), ordered on the 13th October,  thought it would take 4-5 months to get here, dealer as surprised as me it looks like it will arrive before their demo ones, and a few pre FL ordres that have been changed to FL models.

Build/delivery dates seem to be a lottery. Ordered my 1.2 SE on 5th September with a current unconfirmed 03 build date.

How do dealers provide delivery dates to customers?

I suspect I'll probably just hang on for 14 plate now.

Hi Kevin,

thanks for the heads up; no news on the Yetavia, only communication I've had with the dealer since order was to add a folding front seat and 5 year warranty. Going down there Friday with the lads car for an MOT so will ask for an update.

Anyway looks like your going to have an early xmas present

:giggle:  Told the boss it was a early xmas present for her and would not need to find anything else for her,    :punch: looks like I have still got to go xmas shopping then  :dull:.

Next job is to find a lower grill cover for it, and some nightbreaker  bulbs, when I know which bulbs are fitted.

If it's like the Octy III then H7 for dipped beam with a separate spot lamp come DRL (H15).

 Thanks Tim thought the dipped beam would be H7, it's the main beam one that's the unknown one Colin is thinking the DRL is located somewhere other than the headlight, will have to wait and see on that one

Haven't as yet found a nightbreaker type alternative to the standard H15, which seems quite a specialist type bulb but I do have a set of 7's waiting for the new canal barge :giggle:

That is weird I must say, and agree with idh2013 re lottery build dates.

Ordered mine originally on 7th October (140 SE 4x4 DSG), with a wk 50 build date, then 2 weeks later changed it to a 1.2TSI Elegance DSG, but no build date on that yet.

It would be great if all those of us who got in quick in October, or had their pre FL order updated, could get them as quick.

Hoping that there is a glitch in the system like you experienced, and all of our cars are at the dock - but sadly, I don't think so.

Ordered on/around 11/10/13 and dealer tells me today

"It keeps changing between 10 days time and week 3 - I think it is to do with the Greenline element and being built in a batch."

" it has not locked into a date yet, but I am checking regularly."

Hmmm....so much for a Xmas delivery....

Elegance Greenline II -

Hi Kevin,

looking more and more like a 2014 build and possibly a 14 plate for the Yetavia; just got an e-mail from the dealer, no build date as yet, not even a provisional one after almost 7 weeks in :S

Think your going to beat me to it well and truly on this occasion :giggle:

Hi Tim look at my signature :giggle: and the FL order log, I have posted update in there.

Are they more behind with the yetavia than the yeti, or just a lottery of build dates again :wonder:

Then she's a lot closer to me than you; an hour down the road :giggle:

Collecting next week by chance :wonder:

Be very interested to see pics of your new FLego and review compared to the old CSM

No sneaking down there for a quick play in it :giggle: .

Will be 2-3 weeks before I get my hands on it, reg transfer to sort, can take 2 weeks.  And dealer has a 3 changes to make before hand over ;)

Now there's a thought

Three changes; vectors I guess could be one but as to the others :wonder:

Anyway I hope it's closer to two then three; going to be a very nice pre Christmas present  B)
