Odd connection for HiD bulb?

Featured Replies

One of my HiD bulbs went last week, so I ordered a pair off ebay. Annoyingly, they appear to have a slightly different connector to whatever kit the previous owner had installed on my car - see the attached photo. The connector from my old bulb is 'circled' in green, with the replacement in red. Essentially, the connections on the HiD kit I've got on my car appears to be inverted for this one connector... (red circled connector on the car wiring, requiring a green circled connector on the bulb) although I've got no idea if the other two connectors are the same way around for both my old bulb and the new one!

Does anyone know: (a) if (and where) I can get a direct replacement for my bulbs with the correct connector, and (b.) if I can't, would it be ok to just solder the old connector on to the new bulb? Or if there are cheap adapters out there?

As far as I can tell, all the HiD bulbs on ebay seem to have the red circled connector, so I get the impression that my old bulbs are the odd ones here.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Had the same with mine, I just cut them and put on a cheap push connector, job done

Just cut them and either solder them or use a connector of some sort. Easy peasy

Cheers guys - will crack out the soldering iron :)
