Roof Bag

Featured Replies

Hi I've just purchased a 56 plate 1.9td Roomster3 with panorammic roof. Traded in my old Citroen C5 estate and I apsolutely love it! My concern is load space for holidays. Has any one seen or used a roof bag on a Roomster,I don't have the space to store a roof box and find them very expensive but seen bags for as little as £23 on the net with very good reviews.Any points of view? Love the site cheers Legin.

I would be wary of loading the glass unnecessarily. Mine cracked a while back. Don't know why but suggest you don't give yours an excuse!

Hi and welcome to Briskoda.

Mine has the glass roof and I'm sure the glass must be of similar strength to the other glass in the car.  But I, too would be wary of loading it unnecessarily.

At holiday times, the available boot space does of course depend on the number of people travelling and the amount gear needed to be taken.  But with the rear seats slid fully forward and the centre seat folded, three friends and I usually find enough space for our holidays.

Enjoy your car

I think a roof bag would be fine on a panoramic roof if you packed it sensibly. Preferably soft items and definitely no small heavy items that would concetrate any shock load from potholes etc.

If it's a 3 spec won't it have rails fitted? And the roof bags I've seen also come in versions with a semi-rigid floor piece, which will fit fine onto regular crossbars, but take up much less space than a hard shell case.

Thanks for the advice, will be using bars and a bag with a rigid bottom for light bulky items.

No, not necessarily.  I have a 3 spec (2008) and no roof bars.
