Something air-con related making a noise when in motion

Featured Replies

This started a while back but still not had a chance to get it into the garage to be checked. So thought I'd see if anyone had any bright ideas!?

Basically when driving with the heater/blowers off everything is fine. Put the blower on though and it starts making a noticeable kinda whirring/almost grinding noise. I dont think it's the fan motor as I understand tharts behind the dash somewhere... This noise is definitely (I think!!) coming from the engine bay. Is the aircon pump in there and where? And iI assume it's connected via a belt to the engine? When stationary it seems fine but once you've set off the noise doesn't go away.

Any ideas on what I could check for first????

Cheers, dave

Ahhhh, someone having the same problems as me.... Lets hope somone has an idea!

Mine also sort of hisses through the vents when the air con is on, as well as the grinding noise you describe.

I have had the stethoscope on the pump with it on or off, and it does make some odd noises but nothing like what i can hear from inside the cabin.

Most perculier!
