I am new here and this is my first post

 

I own a 2006 Skoda Octavia II, 1.9 TDI-PD, 105 h.p., 5 speed (manual) and I am currently looking for a Flywheel+Clutch replacement KIT.

 

So I was wondering if someone with enough experience and knowledge could advise if those options below are suitable for my car:

I'm planing to boost my car to approx. 170 - 180 h.p (it's currently around 130) and I was told that those kits should be able to handle this.

So are those suitable (bolt-off - bolt-on) replacements?

I think that all of those links point to kits for the PETROL 1.8 turbo engine, so I wouldn't think that they are compatible.

 

Have you already had work done on your 1.9 105bhp car to get it producing 130bhp?

Yes, although it's for petrol engine, I was told that it's compatible. The clutch from VR6 is compatible for sure, since it's used for many other VAG cars with 1.9 TDI engines.

I have some doubts about the Flywheel and that;s why I am seeking for an Expert advise.

 

As for the 130 hp upgrade... no hardware changes have been made so far, only software mapping (tuning). The problem is that my Flywheel slips with this upgrade and it needs replacement.

And since I am heading for 170-180 h.p. upgrade I need something that can hold this power.

Ask the forum its opinion on techniclutch the responses will be short and swift lol.

 

You need a uprated clutch for this, stage 3 to hold down that power.

Here's what techniclutch replied, when I asked if the flywheel will fit:

 

"you will get it to bolt on and everything will look ok but it will cause the rivet heads of the clutch cover to touch your webbing on your gearbox - you may not know about it as the clutch eats into the webbing however in some cases it actually locks up.

 

However, I have seen other guys fitting this on the same Octavia 1.9 TDI.

 

I just want to make sure it won't bring problems. Does anyone know?
