Infinity Basslink I Not Working, Help Please.....

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I noticed recently a lack of oomph from the stereo and it turns out it is because the sub isn't working. I've had a look at it, and it is getting power as the power LED illuminates. I've checked all the conections on the sub and all seems correct, and I whipped the head unit out and the two sub jacks are still connected. There is a 20A blade fuse on the unit, I've changed that and it still isn't working. I know it was unlikely to be the cause as the power LED was on, but worth a try I thought.

Can anyone help please? I'm not sure what else to try and the stereo just doesn't sound as good without it.

Any suggestions or hints and tips welcome. Many thanks.

where have you connected the earth to? Has that come loose?

Is the remote connected still?

Do you have any other speakers lying around? You can test to see if the sub has died or not.

Do you have a multimeter? This can tell you a whole host of things.

Set it to ohms and put the + on the + of the sub and the - on the - of the sub. You should get a reading of 4 or 8ohm (i would guess)

If you dont get a reading at all its possibly the sub is dead

Thanks for your help; I'll double check/try all that and let you know how I get on. Really hope its not dead as it makes a nice difference.

Sadly the sub was dead, had it checked over at Source Sounds after checking as much as I could. While I was there I treated myself to a little upgrade, so all is well.

Thanks for the help.

source.....good choice there chap
