Not JUST yet - I've emailed the garage as I favour a full refund to negative feedback...don't hold my breath though.

But if they don't bother, then yes indeed, full flame on  and won't hence be going back

Its only £50 for 1hrs labour (and my time) but I can't see why just being lazy in regard to customer problems can be condoned

Particularly when I've literally handed them the problem on a platter. It was only a difference in symantecs between saying "can you fix the bump stops for me" and the slightly more open ended suggestion to get to the bottom of the problem but I THINK ITS PROBABLY THIS but being told, nah...

They were saying it was "bottoming out" on the travel of the shocker - complete hogwash. If any thinking had gone into that idea, maybe they could have explained how perchance then it was doing it on ONLY ONE SIDE

A lot of hassle for a bump stop.

Mines been nocking from the driver side ever since a garage lowered it for me on H & R 35mm springs! Been driving me mental! Had it back 3 times and they can't find it, also had a few fitters at work look at it, I recall them mentioning cutting down the bump stops! Think il go back and mention it!

Hi Benny

Easy to check (but please be careful of your H&S, suggest you jack up but then also make sure its chocked and well handbraked, plus stands in case it rolls off the jack. I don't want to be responsible for you losing your hand or fingers

Jack it up, both sides high up in the air. Have a feel about/ move the protective gaitors.

There is a soft and hard side. If you feel the hard side, guess what they buggered it up. I think the soft side doesn't really fit into the mount area correctly, possibly too far so it may be metal on metal contact of the lower shock with the top of the strut ??

I think the garage "amateurs" who don't suspect this has any impact, don't really appreciate how small the cut down bump stops are because these garages don't do high performance and have been too used to dealing with peugeot 106s etc...

Not a difficult fix though, just a case of loosening the shock bolts (with the car on the ground of course).

When they jack it then it will rise and the shock nut will drop into the engine bay. Should then be LOADS of room to spin it round the correct way.

I suggest you get THEM to do that.

Its quite difficult to get the nut back again and really needs 2 blokes. Somehow I managed it on my own lol

GET it sorted Benny I now know I don't have to suffer this and its a total detriment to the experience and to the point I was hating the car. Now back in love again, so smooth - so silly for such a small part !

Just a note I think despite being dismissed the bump stop is actually a VERY important part of the suspension quality/ride. Read up about m3 stops

http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=427147

I'd advocate cutting down the stops on the H&R kit but only if the stops are fitted correctly in the first place lol

I actually introduced my problem I think once the stops were cut down, it was too much like it was riding on the stops more of the time.

Its now actually softer I think with the stops cut down as the standard uncut stops were giving too much resistance for the suspension to work normally.
