Rapid for midgets

Featured Replies

I really wanted a Rapid 1.6tdi I saw in my dealers showroom. This was a yellow one I looked at but didn't want that colour. Anyway everything was going great looking round it until I tried to sit in it. WTF seat right back on its runners and still not enough legroom for me(I,m only 6' 4") tilted seat back still no good my legs are bent up and it's very uncomfortable.

It's ridiculous a car of this size is built for very short people :(

I liked it very much but I walked away from it in disgust. My MK2 Octy was way bigger than that midget size interior.

Anyway to contradict myself I bought a Citigo Sport instead which is very big inside and my seat isn't adjusted right back either. Such a shame as I wanted a Rapid to replace my Octy.

Sorry for the rant but thought I would air my views.

Really? You couldn't get comfortable?

I'm 6'3'' and fit easy with space to move the seat further back - my dad is 6'6'' and sat in the front with me behind and both comfortable.

I suggest you try again! Unless your arms and legs are bizarre lengths?

You did remember to lower the drivers seat too didnt you? I found it tight to start off with until i realised the seat was as high as it would possibly go. Lowering this has the effect of giving you more room I found as the seat goes back slightly and down.

Hi

Yes the seat was right down otherwise my head would be on the roof lining. I was back past the B pillar but felt very cramped and not comfortable at all. Rear space at that time was very little. I've got the Citigo Sport now so I'm very happy and comfortable :)

comfortable in the Citigo and not in the Rapid for a tall man?? really? maybe you didn't try it right in the Rapid or some people at Skoda invested some Million $$$ at something which is...well...standard procedure (?)

so Citigo is a 2+1 car now for you :) .

i suggest you should try again seating in the Rapid and adjusting the seat properly, just for the sake of it...

but then, i am a midget, so i can fit easily in my Rapid :)

I'm 6'4" and the Citigo is Massive inside. Even with the wife driving, Ok her seat is pulled forward, I can sit behind her with room to spare. Loads of headroom

It's like sitting in the Tardis.

Tried always in the Rapid as I wanted one but it's a no go on that model.

Definately loads of room in a Citigo and it's very comfortable. Had 4 in total in the car with lots of room behind me. It is definately a Tardis inside.

I am amazed at that - went to France/Belgium for a trip to Bruges with 4 adults and our 5 month old daughter in the Rapid Saturday - plenty of space for legs and heads and booze :)

Hmm, well if you can't get comfortable you can't get comfortable I suppose. I am probably average in build and stature, but I was impressed at the adjustability of both the seat and the steering wheel which can be adjusted endless amounts of ways; such that I thought it would be possible for practically anybody of any size to find a good seating position.

I must say, however, that for a car in this segment, the rear leg and knee room is objectively extremely generous and spacious. Even with the front seats right back, theres still ample leg and knee room in the back.

I can only agree with Stormchaser. However, It depends on body shape; long body with shorter legs or longer legs and a shorter body.

The Rapid is no good for long body, shorter legs. I'm 6ft 4inches and for me the roof was too low even with the seat all the way down. However, my lanky legged 6ft 5 inch brother was just fine.

However, the Roomster was perfect for both of us, so was the Octavia, so was the Superb.
