Viewed Outdoor Yeti and.....

Featured Replies

My 2.0 litre diesel takes an eternity to warm up with the existing grill, I dread to think what implicaions this new grill will have in this respect.

I can get into my car, start the engine and drive 5 miles and I'm getting warm air from the dash vents, and that includes starts at -8!!

Definate that don't like the large gaps in the grille and increased damage potential but on recent

viewing of F/L don't remember seeing any white polystyrene at the bottom of grille in dealer showroom.

Maybe an update since the German motor show or they now use black polystyrene?

Any further info available on the DSG recall (synthetic oil to be replaced by mineral oil) and if it affects Yeti's as Googling it comes up with vague information?

Just had mine in the dealers for a new clutch pack (juddering in 1st/2nd gear) and asked them to do any recall re. the oil whilst it was with them.  They checked and it didn't apply to mine so it clearly doesn't affect them all. Mine was registered April 11.

I've got the juddering DSG over a long period (from 15k  to 27k on clock, 2010 yr) and dealer and

Skoda UK sympathetic but " no fault found" and now out of warranty. Not entirely happy it won't come

back and bite me though!!  Apart from diagnostics check and road testing no other work done.

The fault is intermittant and unpredictable but generally happens on pulling away low speed and 90 deg

turns at junctions.

On recent chat about recall dealer response was "what recall?" Thinking of jumping ship and trying another brand for next car.

Seen on internet the recall is being done for hot/humid conditions only and Skoda may be in denial mode

for other climate conditions where DSG problems are being reported. Unsure if this is reliable info though.

All said a continuing worry along with a growing list of quality/reliability concerns

The question would be though: 'to what'? Any other VW marque is likely to be no different to Skoda. And who else makes anything comparable to a Yeti CR170? (It's a serious question.)

From cold mine was OK but when fully warmed up ...thoroughly warmed up, that is... it became very noticable and, at times, shook the car quite badly.

Erm, I think it is pretty clear in my photo from the Frankfurt show that the polystyrene was ALWAYS black. Still ugly.
