Skoda Columbus on Octavia 09/2008 Pre FL

Featured Replies

Hi everybody,

On my Octavia 2.0 Combi TDI DSG FAP  09/2008 pre face lift  I had set up the navi Columbus (instead of original "Stream" car stereo) bought on e-bay with this details:

Skoda Columbus RNS 510 MFD3 navigation system
2013 Latest "K" revision
2013 Hardware HW: H10
2013 Software SW: 5230

Everything goes well, Radio, Navi,ecc. works properly;

Navi and Audio command works on Maxi Dot;

The problem is:

The multifunction steering wheel doesn't work ;

The rear parking sensor and the climatronic options doesn't appear on Navi Screen.

Made a check with VAG 12.10.3 and there's no fault code...

Anyone has made this kind of work and could help to solve it?

Thanks in advance

Claudio

It can be done Mike, but on a pre FL Octavia, it needs changes to the FL parking sensor and climatronic controllers and also some wiring changes.

However, I think the steering controls are messed up as the very new firmware on this very new Columbus unit is not quite consistent with the pre-FL steering wheel - see mention of fixes towards the bottom of the page here, which I would say at least merits consideration that this is the issue:

Claudio: Note these are for firmware earlier than yours, and I am not saying they will work for you but it is probably worth investigating if a fix specific to your 5230 firmware exists, as others may have retrofitted as new a Columbus as yours to a pre FL.

Hi guys

at the moment this is the situation...

- the multifunction steering wheel doesn't work

- Navi and Audio works on Maxi DOT ( it was a VAG configuration mistake, BAP has to be deflagged)

- To see parking sensor and climatronic on Navi display I have to set up a POLARFIS ADVANCED

I have to wait for a firmware update that fix the multifunction steering wheel...

Bye

To get the MFSW to work you need a firmware fix involving swapping the SKTABLE and PQTABLE. I believe there is a fix on the my-gti website.
