Good morning a newbie here !

I'm looking for some advice please

I'm looking to purchase a new car for my Dad and have been looking at various options and different estate cars.

Everything draws me back to the superb estate.

I've visited a dealership and looked at a 62 plate elegance with 9k on the clock and a DSG transmission.

Now I'm not really a car guy but want something that is good on fuel ultra reliable and generally hassle free.

I hope someone can help me with these questions without the biased views on a car salesman !

Are the questions;

 

- Is it good on fuel?

- Is it reliable?

 

 

If that is the case then it would be handy to know which engine you are looking at. Generally speaking though, the Superb's are very good cars as shown by their numerous accolades.

If you are not a "car guy" why are you buying a car for your Dad? Would he not be better buying his own car?

I have a Superb bought for its ride comfort, fuel economy (CR140, Twindoor, Manual), reliability and fantastic value for money.

 

Be warned, the Superb is a big car.

Hi, you seem to be a nice guy buying a car for your dad!

 

I agree with a previous post here that it is a really big car and I know for sure that my dad would not have liked it for the same reason, he bought an Opel Corsa since it is easier when it comes to parking, maneuvering in small spaces and so on. Might be worth considering if there is no real need for the big inside space.

Generally good cars I think. Reliable drivetrain and as posh as they come with a Winged Arrow on the bonnet.
