vRS TSI fault - Stalling on warm start

Featured Replies

I have had my 2011 vRS TSI DSG Estate from new and within the first few months it developed a fault, as below, and I'd be grateful to hear of anyone who has experience any issues similar to this, and if you've had any luck in it being resolved...

 - This is an intermittent fault whereby upon starting the car, it will either completly stall and need to be restarted, or nearly stall (revs drop to circa 500rpm for 2-3 second before returning to normal idle).
- The car will always start perfectly on the second attempt, i.e. has never done this twice in immediate succession.
- Fault occurs almost only in warm weather / Summer months (2011/12/13)
- Fault occurs almost only after driving the car to full temp (>30mins, > 95c oil temp)
- Fault Occurs almost only after restarting within 1-30 mins after stopping (i.e. when car is still hot) - only 1 exception to this, noted below,

It's been in numerous times over the past couple of years, with no luck resolving the issue.

This is just a small snippet from the full diary I've been keeping...

16/08 - Stopped for petrol - Stalled after restarting 5 mins later
17/08 - Stopped on Car ferry (after 90 min drive) - Stalled after restarting 4-5 HOURS later
18/08 - Stopped for petrol - Stalled after restarting 5 mins later
22/08 - Stopped for petrol - Stalled after restarting 5 mins later
26/08 - Stopped in car park - Stalled after restarting 2-3 mins later
28/08 - Stopped at car wash - Stalled after restarting 20 mins later
28/08 - Stopped at McDonalds - Stalled after restarting 20 mins later
02/08 - Stopped for petrol - Stalled after restarting 5 mins later
04/09 - Stopped at School - Stalled after restarting 10-15 mins later
05/09 - Stopped at Nursery - Nearly Stalled after restarting 5-10 mins later

After this, it went to Citygate Colindate for the 4th time, after which time, I gave up on them having complained to SUK about lack of progress & lack of confidence in this dealer's workshop (due in part to this, and to some bull they tried to palm me off with about my Columbus having the latest firmware & maps, despite it being nearly 3 years old and never updated).

I had previously just been in the summer that this was occurring, but now it's happening more of the time.

I took it to Trans City Skoda in Walthamstow last week, and they replicated the fault immediately (something Citygate had claimed they were never able to do), which gave me some hope. They replaced the fuel pump, and I went to collect the car this morning - first turn of the key it stalled!
Then did so a few more times in front of the staff there.

Needless to say, I'm quite frustrated by now, so any stories of similar woes (and any success in solving) would be mich appreciated.
