MP3's to "normal" CD

Featured Replies

Hi - a mate of mine has got a lot of MP3 music files. Is there a way to convert them back to "normal" files ie in whatever format a shop bought CD is in - so that I can play them on a standard CD player or my car stereo (the standard Skoda vRs one).

What will the sound quality be like - I guess something is lost in the original conversion to MP3, although they dont sound too bad in my opinion.

If use create a normal audio CD using roxio easy cd creator or nero, they should convert the files from MP3 to "normal" audio for you.

Or Musicmatch, which i have used (version 7.2,which is now quite old).

In a car, which is inherently noisy, you'll not noice any loss of quality.

BUT, I recommend you "level" the tracks, which ensures any quiet bits are increased. It also brings all tracks to a similar volume.

I use nero... you just have to tell it to burn it as an audio cd and it should do the rest for you :)

I find you can normally fit about 20 or so MP3s onto a CD this way.... if it fits lots more, the format is wrong - or the tracks are very short! ;)

Thanks everyone for the advice.

As you may have guessed, I'm new to this CD burning business, but I've got Nero on my PC, so I'll prob give that a try first.

Does Nero do this "volume levelling" thingy?

It has - look for the 'Normalise all audio files' check box when you add the files in Nero Express.
