Headlight auto-level wotsit I expect.

Looks like a sensor for automatic headlamp levelling to me.  Have you got factory HID headlamps fitted?

this is a laurin and klement model so its xenon headlight and automatic.

its still working fine when i turn my headlights on.

on the top of the photo its a steel plate and thats where the sensor is behind it.

at the bottom just a wee braket sits on the arm

i dont know how long its been broken for just noticed it when a changed my tyres

thanx for the help guys ,hopefully one of the Skoda dealers can order it for me

Try EuroCarParts first.

VagCat will give you the part number to order up.

IF there's no promo or sale on, use Brisk25 for a 25% discount.... cheaper than dealers, and looks straight forward to swap out yourself?

I was totally looking at the wrong place earlier!!!

According to vagcat that I quickly browsed, the plate should be 1J0941355C, and the ball linkage is 1J0941285D, however vagcat is not infallible, so I would get your local dealer to double check, just in case. I would doubt that ECP would carry this as it is highly specialised to this vehicle, and as such I doubt there are any pattern parts to supply, but you lose nothing  by asking.
