Been slightly rear ended no joke intended :)

Featured Replies

My car was parked outside my GF's house when the car that belongs to the house opposite rolled into mine, don't know if they were trying to reverse to get out or lack of handbrake but either way it's a steep hill...

Not much damage and no cracks which is a relief just paint scraped off. For this reason I always leave my car in reverse with handbrake on....

So it turns out the guy has a friend who runs a car spray shop and has had his own car done there before.... probably a dodgy cash in hand job but he's agreed to arrange it rather than go through insurance...

Long story short I wanted to know if you can drive without the rear bumper given that the number plate is fixed to the boot lid and it will take more than a day to do so I don't really want to be without the car

if there is dangerous or sharp edges going to be exposed then it's a no no, you could argue though that it still has the bumper reinforcement bar. but i personally wouldn't just incase, only my opinion though

Tape some foam around any sharp bits and you'll be fine. Plod will only be interested if there are sharp bits people can walk into.

Thanks for the advice

Courtesy car?

At least you're getting it sorted out :)

I see cars over here all the time with no bumpers, no idea how they get away with it. Usually either they've had an accident and can't afford a new one so screw the plate where the bumper should be, or they're fitted a FMIC so big it won't go back on, plate in windscreen.
