I Felt Liked I'd Died & Gone to Heaven.

Featured Replies

The aircraft I work on was being serviced today. Usually, we can't stray far from it as we're constantly on stand by.

On the same airfield, is a company who deal in classic cars which I'd heard of but never visited. Today however, I got a chance to pay a visit & had a look around their showroom.

For me, the DB4 was my favourite, closely followed by the Ford Escort. Then again the E Type Jag........oh I could go on!

There is nothing like the smell of an old car. Musty, leather, oil amongst other things. If they could bottle it and sell it as aftershave, I'm sure a few of us on here would buy a bottle or two!

Have a look at their site & I look forward to seeing what your favourite car is.

Cheers

FP.

J D Classics in Maldon (Essex) is a pretty special place too.

I'd prefer the aircraft and aviation smells :-)

MicMac,

You make a very valid point! ;-)

I would have the 67 mustang :)

This must be BA/ Harwarden, yes?

Don't suppose the museum is open to the public is it?

edit. Think I've answered my own question. Recognise the background in some of those pictures.

Now, I possibly would commit murder to get my mitts on that mk1 Essie Twin Cam.

Absolutely gorgeous.

Mr Ree,

I have some good news for you. It's not a museum as all of these cars are for sale. Therefore, you are free to visit them........providing you have the means to buy!

The Escort is an absolute peach of a car and has been restored to a very high standard. Took me back a few years, I can tell you!

As for the Mustang, I'd have loved to have heard it fire up. And right hand drive too, which makes it all the more special.

If ever I won the lottery, I'd be beating a path to their door!

The Escort Rally Car is more appealling, but for a road car it would have to be the FHC E-Type.

That Merc looks like a nice weekend car.
