SPACER FAIL - ooops

Featured Replies

Ok guys so no one else goofs :D

Damian from DPM sorted me a cool deal on some yummy H&R 8 spacers with the locatiing ring

But :D

Yeah the dont fit :(

I popped the spigot ting on and due to the shape of the locating ring it dodnt do back flush to the spacet :(

Cheers to Damian tho for sorting the fast tho

And sorting my 5mm version :)

But yes

H&R 8mm per side spacer dont fit 3sdm spigot

Doh :D

Told you they were fussy ;)

ps

Its the wheel thats' failed - they should have copy OEM spiggot dimensions, H&R have

It almost goes on it starts slotting in but the face of the rim sits about 4mm away from the spacer

The spigots are sortve shaped

But not quite lol

Found exactly the same when switching from my genuine R32 wheels to my R32 reps

Luckily the R32 reps were a larger offset, so just cleared my brakes without spacers

Why does the spacer have the shape?  I would have expected the shape to be straight down to the face of the spacer?

Weird aye lol

Im guessing its to do with thickness

My 20mm pcd adaptors were pretty straight

Odd

Dpm have been awesome tho, i can pop them back being i only put a spigot ring on lol

Strength, imho

When creations motorsport copied 'where inspired by' the H&R, they machined out a little too much metal, and the neck can snap off

And if you look on the back of the wheel this is also chamfered.

creation Motorsport spacers are sh**

As above they are crap

It is to do with thickness. There is just not enough metal on 5 to 8mm spacers to have equal length spigot rings. Creation motorsport are a classic example to try it and fail as they are equal length spigots but crack due to not enough metal.

My creations spacers centre bore was way too tight on the hub too

Wouldn't sit on flush. Well not without the aid of a hammer

You'll probably find they've come apart now then or a crack the whole way round

They were actually 12mm ones. It seemed the centre bore was too tight

They actually survived and didnt crack. But i certainly wouldn't buy them again
