As I am living in Norway the winter pack is standard on my new 1.8 TSI Estate. Driving to work in the morning I turn on the heat in the seat. After 5 minutes I have to turn it off unless I want to get a 3 degree burn on my @ss and back. And I only select lowest level (1 of 3).Anyone experienced the same?

Couldn't agree more. All you need is the lowest setting for a couple of minutes. Can't imagine where you'd need stages 2 or 3. I might have thought Norway. Apparently not though!

Perhaps setting 2 and 3 is for when you spill water on your seats it will dry them off? :D

or Frying eggs.

Agreed, same with me. I'm using setting 1 just until the car gets warmed up and then I just turn it off, since it's too much.

Do the heated seats do Bum and Back? My old car just done my Bum! Lol!

For me it is the opposite.

If I select setting 3, then I feel pleasant warm, but not so burning at all.

VRS TDI hatch build week 47.

Maybe did they do some fine tuning as from build week 47?

Or is it only me that is not normal?

Everyone has a different feeling of heat - what I find too hot, my wife finds "comfortable" in her Citigo.

LOL, clever! So you can Fry eggs on the passenger seat while driving to work? I'm gonna have to try that some day

I agree tho, even setting 1 is too much. From what I've experienced there really isn't that much of a difference between 1 and 3 (not that I've experimented alot, as I can't have either on for very long ... ), I think they should have been spaced further apart to allow for different tastes!

+1

SWMBO on the other hand finds it very comfortable even with heating on full for longer periods of time...

It's both, back and bum. :)

Looks like a trend that the ladies like it hot!  :giggle:  I need to get my wife's opinion, as she hasn't used it yet...

EHM ... actually, there is a reason the "Family jewels" are positioned where they are: They're more effective at slightly lower temperature than the rest of the body!

Now I'm wondering if male bums are more sensitive to heat for exactly this reason? :p

I find level 3 very hot after a short time, but can happily leave it on 1, on a cold day in particular

My Octavia 3 1.6 TDI Elegance, is just fine, but it is more hot (at setting 3) than any heated seat I have owned in a car. They are indeed hoter than the seats of my previois Octavia MK2. I Use setting 3 first, and switch down to 2 or 1 after some minutes.

So  I feel the temperature is great here i Norway :D

same here

I hope this is the same on mine. My heated seats in my old Superb were crap and slow to warm up (I don't think the leather helped). My wife's Monte Carlo burns your arse.. which she seems to like... :-)

My VRS is comfortable on 3, no burning at all.

Perhaps the thinking is that in winter you will be wearing thick clothes even under your coat.

My obviously far superior MkI Fabia has 5 settings :)

Where in HH are you? SWMBO's from Norderstedt and we have friends dotted about HH :)

Just a thought, those that feel its too hot, do you have cloth seats?

Mine has leather, and as I said is fine, its the only thing apart from personal feeling and a large build variable that I can think of.

I have cloth seats and mine are fine.

Mine are the cloth VRS seats. Could be a factor indeed.

Used my passenger seat to keep a pasty warm on the way back from the shop at lunchtime...

Cloth and fine, as above. On 1 they are comfortable, 3 does get very hit though, not burning, but HOT

some sized pasty! The heater shouldn't work if there is no one on the seat.

Level 3 warms the full leather really quickly on frosty mornings, I tend to turn it down to 2 or 1 after 10 mins though.
