Speakers in rear doors?

Featured Replies

A Skoda dealer told me today that speakers on rear doors is not possible. Even though there's made space for them with plastic grills etc. Anyone know something?

Mine has them, so it is possible. It may be difficult to retrofit them though.

You know any part number? I could try to give it to the dealer.

No, sorry. But a good dealer really ought to be able to help you with that!

BTW, this is one area where I consider the Rapid to be inferior to the Roomster. Sound quality in the Roomster was much better.

Sound quality in mine is a step up from the Fabia so I'm reasonably happy with it, but I'd hazard a guess you could improve things simply by fitting better speakers of the correct form factor or by using some of the ample boot space for a sub to improve the low frequency range.

I'd reckon fitting speakers in the rear doors is the easy part, the harder part would be to plumb in the wiring? It should certainly be possible though.

Mine is a 1.6 SE and has speakers in rear doors.  I have to adit it isn't the best sound quality compared to my Honda speakers

Of course they can be added. You will need to route wires for them from the radio to each door; but that´s a 1 - 2 hour job, if your´e a little handy :)

In my old Superb it was impossible to add new wiring to the doors. Do you by any chance know any details about the design?

This probably looks dodgy but the link is legit I promise :) It's a very detailed write-up.

Agreed. I had a quick look at it, the built-in translate service in Google Chrome works brilliantly on this particular page.
