Replacing battery in second key

Featured Replies

Hello,

I'm new to the site, having recently bought a 2004 1.9TDi (LOVE it!)

My problem is a flat battery in the spare key.

The car was sold with two genuine Skoda keys, only one was flat and I'd like to get it up and running as cheaply as possible.

I've looked through the owners manual, your forum and online and am confused by conflicting advice.

Can someone please point me in the right direction for a battery replacement (self-fit or official) that won't damage the key / car / my wallet.

Many thanks

High street key/shoe shops usually helpful and reasonably priced.

google the images, sometimes works - like the second link I posted found the first key replacement image

There you go, first image in the list

It is seriously **** easy and anyone that thinks they can't do it needs locking in a room until they man up enough to work it out !

I know it's easy, you know it's easy but unless you've never done it, it's always worth checking beforehand. :)

Sorry Lee, don't misunderstand me I'm not at all judging the OP for posting.

I'm saying in light of the information that we have provided, it SHOULD be easy lol

changing remote batteries is extremely simple! about as easy as changing them in a TV remote etc. The only tool you need is a flat blade screwdriver to separate the case to get to the battery

This is the battery you need. It's easily done DIY. Small flat blade screwdriver and your new battery and that's all you need.
