Ok guys, looking at getting some new tyres for my 16" steels. 

 

Not that overly fussed about using 205/45/16 or 195/50/16, but are there any other options available that'll fit on the Fabia. 

 

Would something like a 185/55/16 work? 

 

 

195/45R16 is probably preferable to 195/50R16 in terms of size, (being not so far removed from the standard 185/60R14), but you'd need an XL tyre and the choice is limited.

 

The next appropriate size down is 185/50R16 but the standard tyres don't meet the load index requirements and there are no XL options that I can find. In addition, a 6J wheel would be a better choice than 6.5J.

 

All other larger options will make the speedo over-read more than it already does. Not sure how far you can go before you need to check for fouling, but it may be sooner if the car is lowered.

 

With 195/50R16 the choice is better, though, and you don't need XL tyres although, and again, 6J would be preferable to 6.5J.
