Is it possible turn off premanently start stop via VAG COM

Featured Replies

A have a new skoda Octavia Break A7...  is it possible turm start/stop permanently off??

just press the button

I don't think you can turn it off either (with VCDS) so you never have to push the button on every journey.

Permanently? Not possible as the cars economy is tested with the system and on these emission results the car is legislated.

Someone with hardware to write to the car's EEPROM or similar could probably tell it to do whatever pushing that button does each time. :)

They tried that with the newer A6 C7 already. No chance and you will void the cars approval.

Only option is the override button each start up.

I've done it on a skoda Octavia greenline with VCDS

Maybe not entirely relevant, but I did find an option in VCDS to disable start stop on a colleagues VW Up. I think it was an adaptation in the instrument module......but I can't be sure.

I disabled it but this caused a constant warning to appear on the dash along with an annoying warning beep......I was not able to find an option to disable this annoying warning, so had to re-enable the stop start. I didn't have time to investigate further, but it's possible there is an option to successfully disable it without getting a warning message/beep.

I experimented, all be it a year or so back on the work car and got errors that it couldnt be coded/security lock out.  Tried some codes others have used and it wouldnt work.

I assume some ECU's are locked out?

There is an adaptation channel there, but it does seem to require a security code.

Sent from my phone so please excuse brevity and spelling

I got in with the security code, tried the changes then they were rejected.  Perhaps VW locked out the function (2011 car),unless theres a unique code just for the start/stop?
