Ignition key getting stuck

Featured Replies

Over the weekend, on several occasions, I was unable to remove the key after going into 'Park'.  I immediately searched this site and came up with the advice to run the gear selector up and down a few times and that eventually worked.  The fault recurred a few more times but has now settled it seems.

My question is - is this something I should immediately get looked at or is it nothing to worry about?

regards

Ian

The cables need some adjustment by the sounds of it. I would get it looked at, because at some point you may not be able to get the key out at all.

I have done that a few times too, Gadgetman - I wonder if doing this has caused some damage?

Ian

Happened to me several times when either i turned off ignition when

in-gear or somehow keys just stuck.

I simply turn to position II and off again (and gear back in P)
