Rear calliper springs

Featured Replies

Evening just picked these up today to help stiffen up the handbrake on my vRS, seems the 7m0 alhambra springs are now superceded by these, don't know if anyone has used them but will report back!!

I picked up these same 7H0 springs a few months back, they're slightly smaller than the others which makes them a better fit for these calipers. You'll notice a very slightly stiffer handbrake but mainly you'll be sound in the knowledge that they'll never bind.

Part numbers are:

7H0 615 295 A
7H0 615 296

Put these on mine about a month ago, easy to fit & do the job as said slightly stiffer but not overly so.

Had them fitted for about 18 months until November this year when they stopped doing their job/helping when the calliper stuck like a good 'un so replaced the whole lot.

Anybody got any pics fitted, I haven't tried yet just to get an idea of how they look on the calliper, one of my levers are seizing up so hopefully it will free off

I must ask, where did you get these springs? I think I need to fit some as I'm getting a binding like noise from the rear

I need to get some for mine too!!! Are they on the shelf items or special order?

Think I got mine off Ebay?!

What did you search for as I've looked at vw sharan rear calliper spring and nothing comes up

Try the part numbers

I gave the dealers part numbers, one is £15, the other £2:22 :S How does that work? Also they said they'd have to order them in and would take weeks. they also didn't have an expansion tank cap or the right wiper blades in stock... Fleabay it is for these things

I can't remember now, sorry fella :(

Ah, I may have written it down wrong, sorry. I also don't have the packaging anymore! The dealer should be able to find the matching one using the first part number.

I paid £5 or so from VW and they came the next day (for me to collect) Shame they didn't fit mine as I have the anti mooing bush there.

They need to be ordered from the dealer, they're from a seat but any VAG parts department should be able to order, they're usually next day in stock, check bens part numbers for both

Checkout no1forskoda on eBay (Rainworth. Motors, at Mansfield) they are a major player in online selling from Skoda dealerships.

The sales guy, Jonathan, is really knowledgeable and a great young fella to deal with.

I fitted 1KO 615 295 and 1KO 615 296 to my Fabia VRS and they fit spot on,circa £4 each from dealers :)

Will do thanks chaps

Ordered from Audi in Glasgow today and just over £5 for the pair, hopefully get them soon and fitted.

An update on the alhambra springs, perfect fit on the fabia vrs and the handbrake is perfect now, no slackness in the handle, would definently recommend using the alhambra springs

if you have a sticking arm on the caliper it is best to free the arm up first before fitting the springs as a "bandage" for the fault, it is simple to do and just requires the arm removing and the seal gently prising out from behind it, then you can give it a good squirt of lubricating spray wd40 or similar and work it until the corrosion that has formed behind the seal works its way out, then fill with grease and  replace the arm and fit the spring.

Gonna be fitting new discs and pads soon and a general clean and lube of the callipers, seized rear callipers are oh so common on a VAG, maybe even bring the green back to life
