Is there any members here from around Trowbridge?

I'd never seen another Vrs anywhere round here before it for that matter any skoda other than a taxi in my street with an oct derv.

Spotted a few since owning mine though, a nice yellow one in the underground car park and a tidy red one around the outskirts of town.

Skoda Dealer-Turners of Erlstoke, 15 minute from Trowbridge. Nice family run business with a Skoda history set in a quaint village.

Oh! I live near Calne.

Oh right cool there are people in the area then always good if you get a few in your area when needing parts and meets etc.

I'm not familiar with the business but good to know so thanks for that info, I've got full history stamped off every year since it was made I'd like to keep it going and taking it to skoda is a good start and a great selling point when it gets to 200k lol

Im around between Tidworth/Salisbury/Wilton in a Candy White Polo GTi :)

Hi,

How does your Gti fare against the problem threads relating to the Fabia vrs? Presuming yours is a 1.4 TSI VERSION.

Yep mine is the 1.4TSi and DSG combo, same as the VRs and Cupras... I have a CAVE engine, and touch wood I haven't had any problems with it drinking oil at all, that said I've only had it for about 1500 miles, but I have yet to need to top up, or indeed for it to show any oil consumption. If it's going to happen, I need it to happen within the next 11 months before my warranty runs out though....

I have a couple of mechanic mates one in westbury and another in tisbury both good and reasonably priced,

I do what I can myself although it took 7 hours to do a thermostat outside my house on Saturday because I lost my pliers and a few other tools I could have used lol.

nice that a few friends are mechanics, I was out on Sun, trying to cure the problem of water in the both rear footwells, took the door cards off and put sealant on the inner door....fingers crossed it is working with all this rain!!
